how do teachers know about students’ personal life?

i ask this because a couple of my teacher/coaches seem to..?

I usually know because they, their friends, or their parents, tell me things about them.

Observation, time, car. paying attention and being around kids long enough…..References :

Typically, kids have their jaws flapping and just don’t realize that teachers can hear them.

There really is a ‘permanent record’ that teachers can read through, but this is typically material that talks about discipline trends and the like, not specific life events. Still, you never know… ;o)

Yeah, most likely it is simply accidental overhearing.References :

Teachers overhear more than you think. Students yak and gossip all day long, and they don’t seem to realize that the teachers’ ears are working. Heck, I’ve even had students share their gossip with me directly. Alexis would be mortified if she knew what Nancy told me the other day!References :
