    Big generalisations but:

    1. Life coaches help clients set goals and keep them to task whereas therapists work with problems.
    2. The target markets are different.
    3. Life coaches generally charge about a lot more.References : I am both a life coach and therapist.

    Therapists are more likely to focus on problems and personal issues people are experiencing. Life coaches are more likely to focus on goal attainment, which may or may not involve dealing with personal issues. Therapists might be thought of as trying to help people get rid of something, while life coaches help people achieve something.References :
